Fifth Grade Facts:

• Fifth Grade Strings meet every Tuesday-Thursday-Friday.
  
• Students will attend their "club" classes on Mondays & Wednesdays.
  
• Every class students will need their instrument, binder & music book, a pencil, their assignment notebook and short fingernails.  (All items = a marble for the marble jar!)
• Cellists and Bassists will be assigned a school instrument to use at BMS but will want to rent one to practice at home.  
• Violinists and Violists will store their instruments on the String Storage Room Shelves.  Please make sure your name is clearly printed on the outside of your case!
• Private Lessons are encouraged but not required.
• Two sections: "Veteran" String Players & Excellerated Beginners.
• Extra Help Session Letter will come home in two weeks.

Supplies:

1. An instrument in good working order including new strings, pegs and fine tuners that turn easily and a fully-haired bow.
   
2. Rosin
3. Cleaning Cloth
4. Artistry in Strings Book 1
5. Metronome
6. Music Stand for home practice
7. VIOLIN/VIOLA: Contoured Foam Shoulder Sponge or Shoulder Rest
8. CELLO/BASS: Rock Stop/Endpin Stop
9. Pencils with Erasers
10. 1/2 inch or 1 inch black binder with pockets
11. 20 sheet protectors

STUDENT MUSICIAN INFORMATION:
The Bay Music Boosters Membership Drive is Thursday, August 14. All high school music students/Rockettes should be at the Bay High School Cafeteria at 4 p.m. wearing their band/orchestra polo shirt.

What the students will be doing:

 Those students who don’t have a polo shirt will be issued one for the evening. Students will enjoy a pizza dinner first, be given final instructions, pick up their packets and then head for their routes. Information has been provided to the community and the media regarding this membership drive, so neighbors should be expecting the students. After the teams are done with their assigned area, they must return to Bay High School Cafeteria and turn in the donations and membership forms. The 3 teams with the highest amount of donations will be awarded prizes. A swim party will be held after the Membership Drive from 9 – 10:40 p.m. at the Bay Pool for all who participated.

This year, we will not be going to homes on the Do Not Knock Registry. If you are on this list, no one will come to your home. If you would like to make a donation now, you can either fill out the form and send it in with your student or make your donation online at the website listed on the form.
