Dear Orchestra Parents and Guardians, Day For Strings is an exciting biennial event which has been taking place since 2001. This year our guest clinician is Professor Steven Huang from Ohio University. Professor Huang will be working with our students to fine-tune and extend their expression in music that tells a story--our 2017 theme is Of Myth and Legend! Attached is an important letter about the 2017 Day For Strings Festival. In it you will find information for you and your children about the events scheduled for Wednesday, November 1st. Please read it carefully: Day For Strings Letter 17.pdf As you will read in the letter, there is a late-afternoon dress rehearsal for all string players grades 5 through 12 the day of the concert. Students are fed a pizza dinner between the rehearsal and concert. IF YOUR CHILD HAS A FOOD ALLERGY (or has another dietary need) please e-mail your director so we can make arrangements: [email protected] or [email protected]. And finally, please consider volunteering. Day For Strings is always an event to remember!
